Are you tired of feeling trapped in the shadows of your past?
Do memories haunt your thoughts, causing you pain and distress? It’s time to take a step forward and embrace the possibility of healing. You don’t have to face your trauma alone; there is support and hope waiting for you.
Living with unresolved trauma can be an uphill battle. It can feel like you’re carrying a heavy burden on your shoulders, weighing you down with each passing day. The thoughts and feelings that accompany this experience can be overwhelming, leaving you feeling trapped and isolated.
You might find yourself reliving the traumatic event, as if trapped in a never-ending loop. Flashbacks disrupt your daily life, causing panic and anxiety. Sleepless nights are filled with nightmares that jolt you awake, drenched in cold sweat. Your heart races, your palms sweat, and your breathing quickens at the slightest trigger, leaving you on constant high alert.
On top of that, the emotional toll can be just as profound. You may find it hard to trust others, always on guard, anticipating potential danger. You might experience deep sadness, a persistent sense of guilt, or even shame for something that wasn’t your fault. Relationships become strained as you struggle to connect with those you care about, fearing that your trauma will taint everything you touch.
But let me tell you something important – you are not alone, and what you’re feeling is valid.
Trauma is a common human experience, and it does not define your worth or your future. There is light at the end of this dark tunnel, and it starts with reaching out for help.
At Trauma Therapy North Dallas, I understand the courage it takes to seek healing. As an experienced therapist, I’m here to guide you on a journey toward reclaiming your life. I offer a safe and nurturing space where you can explore your trauma, find inner strength, and build resilience.
It is easy to believe that trauma defines your worth or determines your future. The darkness can be suffocating, making it difficult to see beyond the present moment. But I want to assure you that your worth goes far beyond the pain you have experienced. You are resilient, courageous, and deserving of a life filled with joy, peace, and fulfillment.
There is a light at the end of this dark tunnel, waiting patiently for you to step into it. Healing is possible, and it begins by reaching out for help. Just as a wounded heart needs time, care, and attention to heal, your emotional wounds require the support and guidance of a skilled professional who understands the complexities of trauma.

Some of the Techniques We Use:
Breakthroughs can come from brokenness.”
Trauma is often weaved in and through the fabric of our lives. Usually when we think of trauma we think of a large scale traumatic event. However, trauma is not just a single event. It could be a failed attachment to our care takers, experiencing neglect or abuse, betrayal trauma, or the inability to protect ourselves emotionally with healthy boundaries. Â The most disturbing part of a trauma is not the event itself but how we perceived the event and the negative core beliefs about ourselves that were imparted to us at the point of impact. These negative beliefs alter our perception of ourselves, others, and the world around us into lies we believe. Â In trauma therapy we are in pursuit of TRUTH, to know what happened, to call it by its name, then to realize we are no longer victims. As survivors we realize the power we have TODAY, which is the key to healing. Symptoms of post-traumatic stress and complex trauma often look like depression, anxiety, dissociative disorders, addiction, eating disorders, and unhealthy relationships, and attachment issues.
Renee Austin LPC-S EMDR CIT
I am a certified EMDR Trauma therapist, EMDR Consultant in Training, ART (Accelerated Resolution Therapy) and IFS (Internal Family Systems) trained therapist specializing in PTSD, dissociative disorders (testing and treatment), conversion/functional neurological disorders, women’s issues, domestic violence, traumatic break-ups, defecting and deprogramming from cults, anxiety and depression. Â I have extensive experience with loved ones with addiction and personality disorders. I can treat victims of domestic violence, victims of social and family predators, (e.g. victims of narcissists and sociopaths), and victims of cults. Â I will help you to recognize co-dependent behaviors and empower you to create emotional safety.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) has proven to be one the most effective tool in eliminating symptoms caused by trauma. Â I am a Certified EMDR Trauma Therapist by EMDRIA (EMDR International Association). I also use other treatment modalities like Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Experiential Therapy when appropriate. I enjoy working with those suffering with complex trauma and dissociative disorders.
Psycholytic Therapy (Psychedelic Mushrooms or Ketamine Assisted Therapy) uses gentle and legal micro doses of psychedelics during an EMDR session to go to a deeper place of healing. Experience a lowered Default Mode Network state and heightened consciousness. No prescription needed for psychedelic mushrooms, prescription needed for Ketamine. Contact me for more information. Integration will be the most important piece of any Psychedelic work.
ART (Accelerated Resolution Therapy) is a form of psychotherapy shown to achieve benefits much more rapidly (generally 1-5 sessions). ART, like EMDR, also uses bilateral stimulation, but focuses less on content and more on replacing distressing scenes, images, and sensations. ART is effective for post traumatic stress, depression, anxiety, sexual trauma, codependency, grief, OCD, phobias, addictions and more.
IFS (Internal Family Systems) is used in conjunction with the above therapy modalities to help us understand the parts of your personality that seek to help your “system” but that may be harming you or decreasing your quality of life.
I am now an EMDR Consultant in Training and offering discounted rates on EMDR therapists in training.
